I am Paul Salmon – the amateur photographer. I have been taking photographs since 2002 when I bought my first digital camera. Through the years I have been “learning as I go” and have been enjoying photography as a hobby.
Against my wife’s insistence, I have avoided professional training to become a professional photographer mainly because I enjoy photography as a hobby and don’t wish to feel obligated to taking photos because I am paid to do so. For me, photography is fun just as a hobby.
I started this blog as a way to share what I have learned through the years of taking photographs with my digital cameras. I will publish photos that I have taken since my first digital camera through to the present day to allow you to see how my photography skills have changed through the years. Some of the photographs I post will also show that I am not a professional by any stretch of the imagination, as the photos will show mistakes that an amateur will make. This is how I learn – through mistakes.
If you leave me blog with anything it is that not all photographers online are professional that take perfect photos all the time, but rather photographers that make mistakes and are always learning.
